Silicone Coated Fiberglass Tape is a fiberglass tape coated with iron oxide red silicone rubber. This tape is designed compound sheds molten metal
splash immediately, so very little heat transfer occurs. Silicone Coated Fiberglass Tape can withstand repeated exposures to molten steel, molten
aluminum and molten glass, up to 3000°F (1650°C).
Silicone Coated Fiberglass Tape withstands continuous exposure to 500°F (260°C), up to 2000°F (1090°C) for 15-20 minutes, and up to 3000°F
(1650°C) for 15-30 seconds. It is same material as our fire sleeve. When exposed to flame, the silicone rubber transforms to a crust, creating a
protective SiO2 refractory layer.
